People of Chhattisgarh enthusiastically participated in the 'Run for CG Pride' event organized in the capital city Raipur this morning. More than 20 thousand runners of various age groups took part in this run organized for the pride and prestige of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel flagged off the 'Run for CG Pride' from Gandhi Udyan Chowk in Raipur at 7 am. On this occasion, the entire area of Gandhi Udyan was packed with people shouting slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', 'Chhattisgarhiya Sable Badhiya' as well as 'Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Zindabad'. As soon as Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel came on stage to inaugurate 'Run for CG Pride', people in the audience accorded him warm welcome with the slogans of 'Long Live Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel'.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, while addressing the gathering on the occasion, said that we are marching ahead in the direction of building 'Nava Chhattisgarh'. Within three years, Chhattisgarh has established its unique identity at national and international-level. Chhattisgarh's development model is being discussed across the country and abroad. Chhattisgarh's development model has left the Gujarat model far behind. Chhattisgarh model is the model of harmony and economic equality, under which various development works for the betterment of poor, farmers, tribals, women, youth and people of all sections and communities of the society is being done. Even during the COVID crisis, the development work in Chhattisgarh was continued relentlessly.
Chief Minister said that for three consecutive years, Chhattisgarh has been awarded as the cleanest state in the country. This year, Chhattisgarh has won 67 awards in the field of cleanliness. Moreover, the schemes of Chhattisgarh Government are also being appreciated at national-level. On this occasion, Chief Minister congratulated and extended best wishes to all the participants of the event. Mr. Baghel especially mentioned the disable mountaineer of Chhattisgarh Mr. Chitrasen Sahu, praising him for his indomitable courage, determination. Mr. Baghel said that Chitrasen has conquered the high peaks of three continents of the world. Extending best wishes in advance for Chitrasen Sahu's fourth mountaineering expedition Mount Aconcagua, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that together we are providing him the financial aid of Rs.12 lakh 60 thousand for this expedition.
Chief Minister also participated in the run to boost the morale of participant runners. This 5-km long run was organized by Public Relations Department and Sports and Youth Welfare Department in three categories. First category included the participants of age 14 years and below, second category was of age group 14 to 60 years, and the third category included the runners of age 60 and above. Runners securing first, second and third in the first category will be awarded prizes. Likewise, participants securing top ten positions in the second category and the top three winners of the third category of the run would be awarded prizes.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. U.D. Minj and Ms. Shukantala Sahu, Mayor Mr. Ejaz Dhebar, President and MLA Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, MLA Mr. Mohan Markam and other public representatives, Public Relations Commissioner Mr. Dipanshu Kabra, Special Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Arif Sheikh, Director Sports and Youth Welfare Mrs. Shweta Srivastava Sinha, Collector Raipur Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Prashant Agarwal, Director of Public Relations Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey and other officials, citizens were present.
There was a lot of enthusiasm among the participants during the Run for CG Pride. Selfie zones were set up at different places on the route fixed for the race. People enjoyed taking selfies during the run. A large number of citizens standing on the side of the designated route were seen cheering for the runners.
