 If there is hard work, courage and the desire to move forward, then happiness is pulled by even the finer threads.  The tribal women of Naxal violence-affected Dantewada district are now weaving the fabric of their lives with these fine threads of Kose.  The women of Binjam, a small village in Geedam block, have not only created a new source of income for themselves by learning the art of weaving yarn, but are also giving a new direction to the standard of living of the whole family by becoming self-reliant.  These women, who once devoted a whole day to farming and household chores, are now earning 5 to 6 thousand rupees every month by selling kosa thread.

 Once the standard of living of these women was below normal.  For their financial assistance and to raise the standard of living, a total of 10 nos. of basic reeling machine and 5 to the beneficiaries of 15 families of village Binjam at a cost of Rs 4 lakh 37 thousand 5 hundred under special central assistance and central regional scheme by the state government.  Noss spinning machine provided.  Along with this, the women of these families were given skill development training in reeling and spinning work for 15 days.  With a lot of dedication and hard work, the women learned the art of pulling the thread from the cocoon and are progressing by improving it.

 From buying cocoons, making yarn and selling it, women are doing the work themselves.  In the process of removing the thread from the cocoon, first of all she does the grading of the cocoon.  After grading, the cocoon is boiled on a daily basis and a thread is made from the boiled cocoa.  These women produce silk thread, reeled yarn and Gheecha yarn by doing yarn work from Kosa fruits.  Which is sold to the traders, before the sale proceeds the money is paid to the silk department.  After this, the women use the remaining money to carry on their business and run the family.  A member of this women's group expressed her gratitude and said that due to the initiative of the government, she has not only got employment, but her financial condition has also improved.  Due to which the condition of his house has improved.  They have got employment in their own village and now they do not have to go out of the village for work.
